Fact: The video shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying floral tribute to last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar, not Aurangzeb. The video is from 07 September 2017 when Modi visited the grave of the last Mughal emperor, Zafar, in Myanmar. After the war of independence of 1857, Bahadur Shah Zafar was exiled by the British to Rangoon, a city in Myanmar. He breathed his last there on 07 November 1862. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
There is a water mark of ‘Republic TV’ on the top right corner of the video. When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video with relevant keywords, similar video was found on the official YouTube channel of ‘Republic World’. At 0:39 timeframe, the YouTube video had been edited to make this 34-second viral video. According to the YouTube video uploaded on 07 September 2017, Prime Minister Modi was paying tribute at the tomb of Bahadur Shah Zafar in Myanmar; and not of Aurangzeb.
On 07 September 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the grave of last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, in Yangon, Myanmar. After the deportation of Zafar in 1858 to Rangoon, he developed paralysis in the throat region and died on 07 November 1862. Bahadur Shah I is the son of Aurangzeb, not Bahadur Shah Zafar.
