On 19 November 2025, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, for the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The event was attended by several prominent personalities from politics, arts, sports, etc., including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Sachin Tendulkar, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, among others (here, here and here).

Following the event, a video (here, here and here) of Aishwarya Rai began circulating widely on social media, claiming to show her confronting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her speech. The viral clip alleges that she questioned him about recent national security issues, purportedly asking, “I want to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi why we lost six jets to Pakistan, why we lost four Rafales, two S-400 systems, and 300 soldiers.” Here is the truth behind the video.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The viral video shows Aishwarya Rai confronting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Puttaparthi event, questioning him about losing jets to Pakistan, Rafale aircraft, S-400 systems, and soldiers.

Fact: The video is deepfake. In the original speech during the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Aishwarya Rai only spoke about the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and did not mention the Army, Rafale jets, Pakistan, or any security issues. The viral clip shows inconsistencies and was flagged as AI-generated by various deepfake detector tools. Hence the claim is FALSE

To verify the truth, we conducted a keyword search on Google for Aishwarya Rai’s full speech from this Ceremony. We found an 8-minute version of her speech reported by ANI. The official YouTube channel of Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam also livestreamed the entire programme, which is around 3 hours and 25 minutes long.

After reviewing both videos, it is clear that Aishwarya Rai speaks about the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, highlighting the principles of Discipline, Dedication, Devotion, Determination, and Discrimination. Toward the end of her speech, she also shares Baba’s message: “There is only one caste, the caste of humanity. There is only one religion, the religion of love. There is only one language, the language of the heart.” Nowhere in either video does she mention the Army, Rafale jets, Operation Sindoor, Pakistan, or any security-related issue.

Furthermore, we found news reports (here, here and here) covering the event and Aishwarya Rai’s speech. None of them mentions anything even close to what is claimed in the viral clip.

While closely reviewing the viral video, we noticed that Aishwarya Rai’s voice sounded very different from her original voice in the actual event. The lip movements in several parts of the clip also did not match the audio. To verify this, we checked the video using the Hiya Deepfake Detector, which confirmed that the voice in the viral clip was AI-generated. This clearly shows that the circulating video is a deepfake.

To sum up, the video claiming to show Aishwarya Rai confronting the Prime Minister about Operation Sindoor during a public event is a deepfake.
