Fact: The incident in the video is neither from an orphanage in Haridwar nor from an RSS training class. The incident took place in ‘Kishori Balika Vidyalaya’, a private school in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. A teacher named Satish Joshi brutally beat a student for running away from school without informing. Hence, the claim in the post is Misleading.
When we searched the internet with relevant keywords about the video, we found several news articles (here, here) reporting the incident. The incident took place at a Gurukul school in Chhajan village in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh where a teacher named Satish Joshi brutally beat a student for running away from school without informing, and a police complaint was filed against Satish Joshi by the school manager.
Based on the above details, we have downloaded the FIR regarding this incident from the UP police website. The FIR mentions that the incident happened at Kishori Balika Vidyalaya, a school in Sidhauli, and the student’s name is Deepak. Our search also led to a tweet posted by the official ‘X’ account of the Sitapur police, stating that a case was registered and the accused was taken into custody.
A tweet from the official ‘X’ account of Haridwar police also confirmed that the incident in the video is from Uttar Pradesh and is not related to Haridwar.
Furthermore, we also checked with Sidhauli police station and Kishori Balika Vidyalaya to verify if the school is related to RSS as alleged in the claim. They clarified that it is a private school and not a religious school. However, the school staff said that there was a course called ‘Puranik Shiksha’ in this school, Deepak was one of the students and Satish Joshi was the instructor.
A search on the Ministry of Education website about the details of the school confirmed that ‘Kishori Balika Vidyalaya’ is a recognized private school.
To sum up, the video of a boy brutally beaten up by a teacher is neither related to an RSS school nor a Haridwar orphanage.
