This video doesn’t show Muslim women celebrating the passage of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha

On Facebook, many users are posting a video of Muslim women dancing and are claiming that they are dancing as a celebration after the passage of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha. Let’s try to verify the authenticity of the claims made in the post.

Claim: In the video, Muslim women were dancing as a mark of celebration to the passage of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha.

Fact: The ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ was passed in Rajya Sabha on July 30, 2019, and the video posted was found to be at least 4 years old. Hence, the claim that the video shows Muslim woman dancing after the passage of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha stands FALSE.  

When the video posted is fragmented with ‘InVid’ plugin, several keyframes of it are obtained. On subjecting these keyframes to reverse image search technique, many links(1,2,3,4) pertaining to the same video were obtained in the search results. On going through the ‘date of upload’ of the videos in those links, the earliest one was found to be uploaded on May 1, 2015. The ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ was passed in Rajya Sabha on July 30, 2019. So, the claim that the video shows Muslim women dancing after the passing of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha stands false.

When tried to find the true context of that video, information from no credible source was found. But during the search process, it was found that the same video was in circulation on several social media platforms with different background songs(1,2,3).

To conclude, the video doesn’t show Muslim women celebrating the passage of ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ in Rajya Sabha.
