This post claiming holidays to schools and colleges in AP from 01 March to 04 May due to COVID-19 is fake

A post is being shared on social media with a claim that all schools and colleges in Andhra Pradesh will be closed from 01 March 2021 to 04 May 2021 due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Holidays declared to all schools and colleges in Andhra Pradesh from 01 March – 04 May 2021 due to the increasing COVID-19 cases.

Fact: No such decision has been taken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. AP Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh has clarified that there is no truth in the viral post. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When we searched for the news given in the post, no credible news reports were found. Also, no such G.O. (Government Order) was found to be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. On looking at the social media profiles of AP Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh, it was found that he has already clarified regarding the viral post. He posted that there is no truth in the posts declaring holidays from 01 March due to increasing COVID-19 cases (‘కరోనా సాకు చూపి మార్చ్1 నుండి పాఠశాలలకు సెలవులంటూ వైరల్ అవుతున్న వార్తలో నిజం లేదు’ – in Telugu). He said that a complaint has been filed on the fake posts. The Minister has also tweeted the same on his official Twitter profile.

Also, it can be observed there are a lot of spelling mistakes in the posted letter.
