Fact: There is no such lottery offered by KBC and Reliance Jio. Several reports were found online where such KBC scams have been reported for several years. Delhi Police have created a dedicated webpage explaining the KBC Lottery Frauds. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched on the internet about a KBC lottery, a Delhi Police website about KBC Lottery Frauds was found. According to the website, the claim that a mobile number won a lottery jointly organised by Kaun Banega Crorepati and Reliance Jio worth 25 lakh rupees is a fraud. “Any message informing that you have won a lottery or a prize, is, in all likelihood, a fraud.”
Recently, a housewife in Mumbai was lured into paying 3.85 lakh on the pretext that she won a KBC lottery. Several such reports were found online where such KBC scams have been reported for several years.
PIB Fact Check had tweeted about a similar claim when such messages about the KBC lottery have gone viral via calls, e-mails, and messages.
