A social media post accompanying a video of PM Modi participating in a meeting along with cabinet ministers and secretaries is going viral on social media platforms. In the viral video, Prime Minister Modi can be seen gazing at something in front of him, with a paper file open in his hand. Showing these visuals of PM Modi staring at something in front of him, the post claims that he is posing for a photo-op, amidst a meeting. Through this article, let’s fact-check the veracity of the claim made in the post.

Fact: These visuals are from the second high level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister over the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, on 28 February 2022. Multiple news agencies have reported this meeting. Visuals reported by the news agencies clearly show foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan operating a screen with the help of a remote control and other members present in the meeting looking at the screen. This implies PM Modi was also looking at the presentation on the screen, which is exactly in front of him. Also  Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

Multiple news agencies have reported the meeting and have also telecasted visuals of the meet. As per these news reports, in the meeting PM reviewed issues like the evacuation of Indians stranded in Ukraine, sending a consignment of relief supplies to Ukraine to deal with the humanitarian situation, etc.

From the visuals related to the meeting, as telecast by the news agencies, it is clearly evident that PM Modi was looking at a screen in front of him, while the foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla was operating the projector using a remote control. Even the other members present in the meeting can be seen looking at the screen which was being used by the foreign secretary for a presentation.
