Several social media posts (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here) are claiming that PM Modi announced free gold, smartphones, electric cycles, bikes, money to students taking coaching, as well as benefits for Aadhaar and ration card holders, along with other free schemes. Some of these handles have even included links to external websites in their bios. This article examines these claims to verify their authenticity.

Claim: The videos show Prime Minister Modi announcing multiple free schemes for the benefit of citizens.

Fact: None of the schemes mentioned—such as free gold, smartphones, electric cycles, bikes, money for students taking coaching, or benefits for Aadhaar and ration card holders—exist. PM Modi has not announced any of these schemes for the benefit of citizens. There are no credible reports or official announcements supporting these claims. All the viral videos are deepfakes, and the audio in these clips has been digitally added; it was not part of PM Modi’s original speeches. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Upon reviewing these videos carefully, we noticed discrepancies in the audio and inconsistencies in the lip-sync. Analysis revealed that all these videos are deepfakes and have been digitally manipulated.

We also found the original clips of PM Modi’s speeches that were used in the viral videos, with edited deepfake audio added to create false claims. In none of these speeches did PM Modi announce schemes offering free gold, smartphones, electric cycles, bikes, money for students taking coaching, or benefits for Aadhaar and ration card holders, or any other free schemes. The original speeches of PM Modi can be viewed here, here, and here.

We then conducted a Google search using relevant keywords to verify claims that PM Modi announced the schemes mentioned in the viral videos. However, we found no credible media reports or official announcements supporting these claims. If such schemes had been announced, they would have been widely covered by multiple media outlets.

A thorough review of the Government of India’s MyScheme portal, along with press releases issued by the Press Information Bureau, was conducted to check whether any of the schemes mentioned in the viral claims had been recently announced or launched. The review found no information or official confirmation supporting these claims.

We have previously debunked similar viral claims alleging that Prime Minister Modi had announced schemes offering free smartphones, electric cycles, bikes, and money to ration card holders. In each case, no such schemes were officially announced, and the claims were found to be false. The fact-check articles can be read here, here, here, and here.

Many Instagram handles (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here) are using deepfake videos of PM Modi to create false claims and lure people with promises of benefits from non-existent schemes. These posts often include external links that function as phishing links. If users follow the steps shown in these videos and share their personal details, their data can be stolen. Information such as Aadhaar numbers, PAN numbers, ration card details, or other sensitive personal data can be misused for financial fraud, identity theft, or other serious consequences.

To sum up, all viral claims that PM Modi announced free benefits, cash, or schemes for citizens are false. There are no credible reports or official announcements supporting these claims.
