There is no central government scheme with the name ‘Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojana (PMSVY)’

A post regarding a scheme, ‘Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojana’ (PMSVY), is being shared widely on social media with the claim that the scheme provides a lot of monetary benefits to children (of age 5-16 years) studying in the government schools. Let’s try to analyze the claim made in the post.

Claim: Monetary benefits under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojana’ scheme for children (age 5-16 years) studying in the government schools.

Fact: There is no such scheme under the Central Government. The ‘Press Information Bureau (PIB)’ has also tweeted saying that the viral message is fake. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When searched about the scheme, there was no information regarding the scheme on any of the government portals. Also, there were no media reports on the scheme. If there was any such government scheme, the media would have reported about its launch. Two websites (https://pmsvy-cloud.in/Home/Index and http://www.pmsvy.com/index.aspx)  on the name of the scheme were found in the search results. FACTLY tried to call the numbers given on the websites but none of them were answered. Details regarding the websites can be seen below.

Also, the ‘Press Information Bureau (PIB)’ has tweeted saying that there is no such central government scheme and the viral message is fake.

To sum it up, there is no central government scheme with the name ‘Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojana (PMSVY)’.
