Fact: The video does not show RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat meeting his granddaughter’s in-laws. The visuals are from the wedding reception of Chief Imam and head of the All India Imam Organization (AIIO), Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi’s son, held in Delhi in July 2023. There is no credible information that Bhagwat has a granddaughter married to a Muslim man. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
To verify the viral video, we conducted a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to an Instagram post by Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, head of the All India Imam Organisation (AIIO), dated 09 July 2023. The post included photos of him with Mohan Bhagwat. In these photos, Bhagwat’s clothing, the curtain behind him, and the nearby table match those seen in the viral video. According to the caption, the photos were taken at the wedding reception of Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi’s son, Faizan Munir, held on 08 July 2023 at the Western Court, Janpath, Delhi.
We searched whether RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has a granddaughter and if she is married to a Muslim man. However, we did not find any credible reports supporting this claim.
