A post with a video in which one can hear the public shouting Kamal Nath’s name when Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked them to choose who is better as Chief Minister between him and Kamal Nath, is doing rounds on social media. The video was also tweeted (archive) by the official Twitter account of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Fact: The video in the post is doctored. In the original video it can be clearly heard public taking Shivaraj Singh Chouhan’s name when he asked them to choose who is better as Chief Minister between him and Kamal Nath. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On searching YouTube with keywords ‘Shivaraj Singh rally Madhya Pradesh’, we found the longer version of the video in the post. The video is of Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan’s public meeting in Sitamau, Mandsaur district, and the meeting was live streamed on 20 September 2020. In the video at the timestamp of 43.04, it can be clearly heard people taking Shivaraj Singh’s name when he asked public to choose who is better as Chief Minister between him and Kamal Nath.
Madhya Pradesh BJP’s official twitter handle took a jibe at MP Congress by quote tweeting the Congress tweet which shared the same video adding a comment ‘So IPL is not the only one using fake crowd noise.’
Shivraj Singh Chouhan also quote-tweeted MP BJP’s tweet adding a comment ‘It seems that the social media team of Madhya Pradesh Congress will be able to overcome all their leaders in INC Political Lies (IPL) by becoming Champion.’
In the light of the by-polls which are set to take place in Madhya Pradesh very soon, posts like these are being shared with misleading claims.
To sum it up, a doctored video is shared as public shouting Kamal Nath’s name when Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked them to choose who is better a Chief Minister.
