A video of a few men dressed in traditional Emirati dress and police uniform is being circulated on social media, claiming to feature the Prince of Dubai, Mohammad Hamdan bin al Maktoum. Let’s fact-check this claim through this article.

Claim: This video shows the Prince of Dubai celebrating the Independence day of India.

Fact: This person featured in the video is not the Prince of Dubai. His name is Iqbal Hatboor, a social media influencer. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

Firstly, upon observing a watermark on the video that reads ‘@Iqabl_hatboor’, we performed a keyword search on the internet which led to the social media profiles (here and here) of a person with the same name. According to his Instagram bio, Iqbal is an Entrepreneur and Influencer.

The viral video is featured on Iqbal’s Facebook page, which was uploaded on 15 August 2022. The post’s description reads, ‘Celebrating the 77th Indian Independence Day at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is a remarkable way to honor the occasion. Expressing gratitude to the UAE and Dubai Police for their support adds a special touch of appreciation to the event.’ Mathrubhumi News also covered this event in which he was identified as a native of Kasargod.

A further search on the internet about Iqbal revealed that he is a native of Kasargod, Kerala. In 2020, Samayam Malayalam reported that Iqbal celebrated the UAE’s National Day on the 122nd floor of Burj Khalifa.

With all this information, it is pretty clear that the viral video misquotes him as the prince of Dubai, Mohammad Hamdan bin al Maktoum. Hamid Bin Mohammad is the crown prince of Dubai. You can learn more about him here and here.

To sum up, the person seen in this video is not the Prince of Dubai; he is a social media influencer named Iqbal Hatboor.
