A video through a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that PM Narendra Modi had sacrificed Bajrang Dal workers to win the election in UP. In Karnataka, a Bajrang Dal activist named Harsha was stabbed to death on 20 February 2022 and the police so far have arrested six individuals in connection with the murder. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: Bajrang Dal workers allege that the murder of Harsha was a BJP conspiracy to win elections in UP.
Fact: The people who allege that the BJP government had sacrificed the Bajrang Dal worker in Karnataka are not Bajrang Dal activists. Sanjay Garg and Rabi Kant Bharti, who allege that BJP kills Hindus as a strategy for their political gains, belong to the Swarna Bharat Party which claims itself to be India’s first liberal party. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
There is a logo of Loktantra TV on the top right-hand corner of the video. When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video with relevant keywords, the same video was found in the official YouTube channel of Loktantra TV. The title of the YouTube video says that Narendra Modi sacrificed Bajrang Dal workers as a conspiracy to deteriorate the atmosphere in UP. The person at 4:33 timeframe alleges that the BJP government had sacrificed the Bajrang Dal worker in Karnataka as a tactic to win the election in UP. However, the person in the video does not claim himself to be a Bajrang Dal activist.
In fact, in other videos uploaded in the same YouTube channel, the same person (identified as Rabi Kant Bharti) and another man (identified as Sanjay Garg) allege that BJP kills Hindus as a strategy for their political gains. They even claim that Kamlesh Tiwari was killed by Yogi Adityanath’s government. However, nowhere do they claim themselves to be Bajrang Dal activists.
Sanjay Garg and Rabi Kant Bharti belong to the Swarna Bharat Party, which claims itself to be India’s first liberal party. According to its website, Sanjay Garg is the Vice President of Swarna Bharat Party. Rabi Kant Bharti is the state coordinator of the Uttar Pradesh unit.
To sum it up, the people in this video alleging that the murder of Harsha was a BJP conspiracy to win elections in UP are not Bajrang Dal activists.
