Sundar Pichai retweeted the video of Alligator swallowing a drone, he did not shoot/capture the video

A video of an alligator swallowing a drone is being widely shared through a post, claiming that the video was captured by Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of an alligator swallowing a drone was shot by Sundar Pichai.

Fact: The video was taken in Everglades, Florida by a TikTok user named ‘Dev H Langer’. This video was not shot or posted by Sundar Pichai, he merely retweeted a post by a twitter user named Chris Anderson, who had tweeted the same video. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, the same video was found on the Twitter timeline of Sundar Pichai’s official Twitter account. However, this video was not shot/posted by him, he merely retweeted a post by a verified Twitter account named Chris Anderson, who tweeted the same video. According to the tweet, an alligator swallowed a drone in Everglades, Florida. The Alligator snatched a drone, which promptly caught fire in its mouth. The news that the video was shared (not posted/captured) by Sundar Pichai was published in articles (here and here).

The video was reportedly taken in Everglades, Florida, and was viral on TikTok, posted by a user named ‘Dev H Langer’. According to an Instagram post by the Everglades National Park, they were not sure where the video was taken but cautioned people to keep their equipment at least 15 feet away.  

To sum it up, this video of an Alligator swallowing a drone was retweeted by Sundar Pichai, he did not shoot/capture the video by himself.
