A video is being shared on social media with a claim that it shows BJP workers distributing money to bring the crowd for Yogi Adityanath’s rally in West Bengal. Recently, Yogi Adityanath campaigned for BJP in the poll-bound West Bengal. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: BJP workers distributing money to bring the crowd for Yogi Adityanath’s rally in West Bengal.
Fact: The posted video is an old one. The video is being shared on the internet at least since October 2019. So, it is not related to Yogi Adityanath’s recent campaign in West Bengal. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When the screenshots of the video were run through Yandex Reverse Image Search, the same video was found to be uploaded on YouTube in October 2019. Also, an extended version of the same video was found on YouTube with the title – ‘जन आशीर्वाद यात्रा: रघुबर दास सरकार की नयी योजना- रैली में आओ Rs 500 पाओ!’ (Translation – Jan Aashirwad Yatra: New scheme by Raghubar Das Government – Come to rally and get Rs 500).
While FACTLY could not confirm the exact location and context of the video, it can be observed that ‘Abki Baar 65 Paar’ (in Hindi) is written on the t-shirts of the people in the video. ‘#AbkiBaar65Paar’ is a slogan used by BJP in their campaign for the Jharkhand Elections -2019.
To sum it up, an old video is being falsely shared as BJP workers distributing money for Yogi Adityanath’s rally in West Bengal.
