Nilkamal furniture company had not affixed these ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ stickers on their dustbins

An image of a Nilkamal plastic dustbin with a ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ sticker is being shared on social media claiming that the Nilkamal furniture company had exhibited their patriotism by affixing anti-Pakistan stickers on their dustbins. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: The Nilkamal furniture company exhibited patriotism by affixing the ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ sticker on their dustbins.

Fact: This photo was shot at Udaipur railway station in 2019. Following the Pulwama attack, a few unidentified Udaipur city locals affixed these ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ stickers on the Nilkamal plastic dustbins placed in the Udaipur railway station. These stickers were not affixed by the Nilkamal furniture company. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post, a similar photo was found in an article published by the ‘Patrika’ news website on 22 February 2019.  This article reported it as the visuals of a plastic dustbin placed in the Udaipur city railway station. A few unidentified Udaipur city locals have reportedly affixed these ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ stickers on the Nilkamal plastic dustbins placed in the city railway station. Following the Pulwama attack, Udaipur locals have reportedly expressed their anger by affixing these stickers on the railway station dustbins.

On being informed by the local journalists, the Udaipur Railway station officials removed these ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ stickers placed on 10 to 12 dustbins in the railway station. The Udaipur Railway station officials did not identify the locals who affixed these stickers on the dustbins. Reporting the same, the ‘Udaipur Times’ news website published an article on 22 February 2019.

The original Nilkamal plastic dustbin can be seen here and here. It can be observed that the Nilkamal furniture company had not affixed any such anti-Pakistan stickers on their dustbins.  

To sum it up, this ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ sticker on the Udaipur railway station dustbin was not affixed by the ‘Nilkamal’ furniture company.
