A post containing adulatory statements allegedly made by ‘The New York Times’ and BBC on PM Modi’s leadership capabilities is being widely shared on social media. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.
We searched the text from the viral post and found that the same post is being circulated at least since 2019.
We checked all the reports by ‘The New York Times’ on India and PM Modi since 2014 but couldn’t find any such statement as claimed in the viral post. Even in 2021, We debunked a fake Facebook post praising PM Modi shared in the name of New York Times. When we contacted them for clarification, ‘The New York Times’ spokesperson Ari Isaacman Bevacqua clarified that viral post was not from ‘The New York Times’.
We then searched in the BBC news website and it’s Twitter account, but couldn’t find anything article that says ‘India is moving on the path of Israel under Modi’
To sum it up, ‘New York Times’ and BBC never made these adulatory remarks on PM Modi.
