A news clip with the title – ‘Corona broke my faith in religion- Mohan Bhagwat’ is being shared on social media. The clip quotes Mohan Bhagwat saying that Gods in the temples did not save the country from coronavirus and he has lost faith in religion. The clip further claims that Mohan Bhagwat has said that all the temples should be closed and in their place schools and hospitals must be constructed. But FACTLY has found that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat has not made any such statements. No news agency has reported Mohan Bhagwat making the above statements. Also, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Narender Kumar has tweeted that Mohan Bhagwat has not made any of those statements and the news clip is fake. In his tweet, he also wrote that some anti-social elements have created the news clip to disrupt the society in order to achieve their goals and disintegrate society.
