Fact: The photo shared in the post shows a pan shop located in the Moradabad city of Uttar Pradesh. Pleased by the work done by PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath, Vijay Kumar Gupta, the owner of the ‘Pan Mandir shop’ in Moradabad, placed a hoarding with Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath’s photos on his shop. The photo does not show a liquor shop in Uttar Pradesh. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On observing the shop’s photo carefully, one could see the Hindi text ‘पान मंदिर’ (Pan Mandir) along with PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath’s photos on the hoarding. When we searched for the details of this shop using keywords on the internet, we found similar visuals of a shop with Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath’s photos on its hoarding in an article published by ‘News 18’ on 02 November 2022. ‘News 18’ reported it as the ‘Pan Mandir’ pan shop located in Moradabad city of Uttar Pradesh. The video shared in this article showed the interior and exterior visuals of this shop, and also the products placed inside this shop. There are cigarette packets, beverages and other pan-making products inside the shop. The interior visuals shown in the video did not show liquor bottles inside this ‘Pan Mandir’ shop.
Pleased by the works done by Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh and PM Modi in the centre, Vijay Kumar Gupta, the owner of this 50-year-old ‘Pan Mandir’ shop, reportedly put out the photos of Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath in his pan shop. Reporting the same, the ‘ABP’ news website published an article in 2019. It is nowhere reported that the ‘Pan Mandir’ shop in Moradabad sells liquor along with the pan in their shop.
