A post with an image of a news article which states that Osama bin Landen’s daughter Zoya is getting married to Bhojpuri singer Pradeep Maurya is doing rounds on social media. The photos of the duo are also featured in the article. Also, the post claims Osama’s daughter converted to Hinduism and she criticized Islam. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: A news article states Osama bin Landen’s daughter Zoya is getting married to Bhojpuri singer Pradeep Maurya. She also converted to Hinduism and even criticized Islam.
Fact: The image of the woman in the post is identified as Pakistani actress and model Syra Yousuf, whereas the man in the image is identified as Bhojpuri actor and singer Pradeep Maurya. Also, they both are not married to each other. As per news articles, Osama’s first wife’s name is Najwa and the name of the eldest daughter with his first wife is Fatima. Further, there is no credible evidence to state that Osama’s daughter converted to Hinduism or getting married to a Hindu. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Reverse image search of the photo of the women in the post led us to a few blogs in which the mirror image of the image in the post is featured. One such blog identified her as Pakistani model and actress Syra Yousuf. Taking a cue from the blog, google search with the keyword ‘Syra Yousuf’ led us to her Instagram account which proves that the image in the post is indeed of Pakistani actress Syra Yousuf.
Further google search with the keyword ‘Syra Yousuf marriage’ led us to a news article which stated that Syra got married to Sheroz Shabzwar in 2012. Syra also announced split with her husband on her Instagram account.
Google search with the keyword ‘Osama bin laden family’ led us to a news article which reported Osama’s family tree. The family tree does not mention any daughter with the name Zoya. Also, as per the family tree, Osama had 11 children with his first wife Najwa and Fatima is the eldest of the daughters. We also did not find any news reports regarding Osama’s daughter converting to Hinduism, getting married to a Hindu or even criticizing Islam.
Reverse image search of the photo of the man in the post led us to a blog which carried the same image. The blog identifies the man as Bhojpuri singer and actor Pradeep Maurya. The blog also states that he is the head of the Gorakhpur film city. Taking a cue from the blog, google search with the relevant keywords led us to the Gorakhpur film city website which featured videos and photos of Pradeep Maurya. We also did not find any news articles regarding Maurya getting married to Osama’s daughter.
To sum it up, the image in the post is of Pakistani actress Syra Yousuf and she is not the daughter of Osama bin laden. Also, the actress did not get married to Pradeep Maurya.
