Government of India has not introduced any scheme called the ‘PM Kanya Aashirwad Yojana’

A post has gone viral on social media which claims that the Government of India has launched the scheme by the name ‘PM Kanya Aashirwad Yojana’, under which ₹ 2000 will be given to every girl in the country. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Government of India is distributing ₹ 2000 to every girl in the country under the scheme ‘PM Kanya Aashirvad Yojana’.

Fact: There is no such scheme by the name ‘PM Kanya Aashirvad Yojana’, introduced by the Government of India. Press Information Bureau (PIB) also clarified the same when posts on such a scheme went viral on social media. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Details of all the schemes launched by the central government for the welfare of women and child are usually found on the website of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. But there is no mention of any scheme with the name ‘PM Kanya Aashirvad Yojana’ on the ministry website under any category.

When the posts about the scheme went viral on social media, Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified that all these posts are fake and that there is no such scheme introduced by the Government of India.

To sum it up, details of a fake scheme with the name ‘PM Kanya Aashirvad Yojana’ are shared on social media stating that every girl child in the country will receive ₹ 2,000.
