A video is being shared on social media through a post in which the CM of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, is heard saying, ‘Islam Zindabad.’ Let’s find the truth in this video through this article.

Claim: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said ‘Islam Zindabad’ during his speech.

Fact: The video in the post is doctored and is made using a clip from Yogi Adityanath’s speech during the ‘Garib Kalyan Sabha’ event. In the original Clip, he says, ‘ Bharath Mata Ki (Jai -The audience responds) and Vande (to which the audience shouts Mataram).’ Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

We searched the internet for the source of the video in the viral post using the following hints.

  1. White and Saffron colour cloth background.
  2. Microphones
  3. Black box (which looks like a speaker box) on the right side of the CM.

We went through various speeches (videos) of Yogi Adityanath on the internet and could trace down the original footage. We found a video on Yogi Adityanath’s official Facebook page that matched the viral video’s hints. This is a live stream of the ‘Gareeb Kalyan Sabha’ event that took place on 08 June 2022.

Evidently, the background, microphones and speaker match the viral video. At the very beginning of his speech, CM Yogi Adityanath says, ‘ Bharath Mata Ki (Jai -The audience responds) and Vande (to which the audience shouts Mataram).’ The viral video contains a part of this live stream from 0:10 Sec. till 0:15 Sec. We can conclude that voice of a person saying ‘Islam Zindabad‘ was added to this footage to create the viral video.

To summarise, doctored video is being shared as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath raising ‘Islam Zindabad’ slogans.
