The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The video shows ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans raised during a Muharram procession in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh in July 2025.

Fact: The slogans raised were ‘Five Star Zindabad’, not ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, as confirmed by Deoria Police. Members of a local akhada called ‘Five Star Club’ were chanting these slogans during the procession. Deoria Police clarified that the video was misrepresented and stated that legal action would be taken against those spreading the claim. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords but found no credible media reports suggesting that such an incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh during the 2025 Muharram procession in Deoria. Given the seriousness of the claim, it would likely have attracted significant media attention, yet no such coverage was found.

Upon closely listening to the slogans raised during the procession, it became evident that the chants were not ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ but ‘Five Star Zindabad’. Although background noise makes the audio somewhat unclear, we also observed that many participants in the procession were wearing green T-shirts with ‘5 STAR CLUB’ and ‘5 Star’ printed on them.

Following this, we conducted a Google keyword search, which led us to the Instagram profile of ‘Five Star Club‘, based in the Bans area of Deoria. We found several Muharram-related videos on this account and on the profiles of people associated with it, where members of the Five Star Club can be seen performing stunts while wearing green T-shirts.

In an X post (archived) dated 07 July 2025, Deoria Police clarified that the viral video claiming ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised during a Muharram procession is false. The investigation revealed that members of a local akhada, ‘Five Star Club’, were chanting ‘Five Star Zindabad’, not ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. The police stated that the video was deliberately misrepresented and assured that legal action would be taken against those spreading such false claims.

To sum up, the viral video does not show ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans but ‘Five Star Zindabad’, as confirmed by Deoria Police.
