Fact: The video is from 2020 and is not a recent one. The video had been clipped from a longer video, where CM Yogi Adityanath was upset that officials were not answering the calls of public representatives. Yogi Adityanath said CMO (Chief Medical Officer) in Kanpur should apologise to BJP MLC Arun Pathak and MLA Abhijeet Singh Sanga as concerned officials were not answering the calls of these public representatives. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
There is a logo of R9 News on the top-right corner of the video. When we searched with relevant keywords, in the R9 News’ official YouTube channel, a longer video was found with similar visuals. The YouTube video is not a recent one as it was found uploaded on 26 September 2020. The viral video had been clipped at 1:13 timeframe and shared as a 12-second-long video, without the full context.
If one listens to this more than 4-minute-long video, one could understand the context of CM Yogi Adityanath’s words. CM Yogi Adityanath says that the CMO (Chief Medical Officer) in Kanpur should apologise to BJP MLC Arun Pathak and MLA Abhijeet Singh Sanga as concerned officials were not answering the calls of these public representatives.
The CM, who was upset for receiving complaints that officials were not answering MPs’ and MLAs’ calls, asked them to apologise to the concerned parties, who were Bithoor BJP MLA Abhijeet Singh Sanga and BJP MLC Arun Pathak. These comments were made by Yogi Adityanath at a review meeting held for developmental projects of Kanpur district on 24 September 2020.
