The central government sponsors various pension schemes under National Social Assistance Programme that came into effect on 15 August 1995. The programme comprises Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), and Annapurna scheme. Under IGNDPS, the pensioner who is 18 years and above with 80% of disability avails Rs. 300/- till 80 years of age after which the beneficiary will get Rs.500/- per month.
Over and above this amount, each state has its own pension scheme with different eligibility criteria and grants. Divyang Pension Yojana is one such initiative of the Uttar Pradesh state government under an integrated pension scheme called Divyang and leprosy pension to provide financial assistance every month to the disabled. The scheme was launched in 2016 according to which, the beneficiary should be at least 18 years of age and have 40% disability in order to avail of the grant of Rs. 1000/- per month.
To sum up, the Central government has not launched any new scheme for depositing money into the bank accounts of siblings ahead of Raksha Bandhan.
