Fact: Ayushmann Khurrana sang this song during a concert held in Dubai in 2017. In the concert, Ayushmann Khurrana not only sang ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ but also performed many Indian songs like ‘Chak De India’. However, only the ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ segment of this video is being circulated on social media with a misleading narrative. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
To learn more about the viral video, we performed a reverse image search on Google using keyframes from the video. This search led us to a YouTube video published by Selfie Tv on 20 November 2017, featuring a longer version of the same video with the description “Ayushman Khurana giving tribute to all Asian countries through his Punjabi singing in Dubai.” Upon careful observation, it becomes evident that Ayushmann Khurrana sang various songs during this performance, dedicating songs to the audience from different parts of India by mentioning names Punjab, UP, Bengal, and South India. In one segment, he performed the “Dil Dil Pakistan” song as a tribute to his Pakistani fans present at the concert. Later, he asks all the Indians present in the concert to dance, as he sings “Chak De India” song, after this song he concludes his performance.
Ayushmann Khurrana had also tweeted on his official Twitter (X) handle regarding this Dubai concert in 2017 and posted a video clip of his performance along with his brother Aparshakti Khurana (here & here).
We also came across a news report from Gulf News about this concert. According to the report, Ayushmann Khurrana, along with his brother Aparshakti Khurana and Pakistani singer Ali Zafar, performed at the MTV India Unplugged concert at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on 27 October 2017. The report mentioned that Ayushmann Khurrana surprised everyone by dedicating the song “Dil Dil Pakistan” to his fans from across the border. He concluded his performance with the song “Chak De India”.
