A post is being shared on Facebook with a claim that a Saudi TV channel had pixelated the hair of Angela Merkel to avoid plunging the nation into an uncontrollable sexual excitement. Let’s try to analyze the claim made in the post.

Claim: Angela Merkel’s hair was pixelated on Saudi TV.

Fact: No credible source has published about Saudi channels pixelating Angela Merkel’s hair. The pixelated picture was posted by a satirical page. Also, the Saudi Press Agency has released pictures without pixelating her hair. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When searched on Google with the keywords ‘Angela Merkel hair pixelated’, no credible news source was found confirming the claim. At the bottom of the picture, a logo can be seen.  The logo is related to a Facebook page –  خسة  –  (@khasepage). In its ‘About’ section, it can be read that it a satirical page and posts images for fun. According to an article published by ‘BuzzFeed News’ in 2017, the Facebook page has posted the pixelated picture with the following description: ‘Just for fun’.

Also, in the picture released by the Saudi Press Agency and published on the Arab News website, it can found that the hair of Angela Merkel is not pixelated.
