On 27 August 2025, during the Opposition bloc’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga, Bihar, a video surfaced showing a man hurling offensive remarks at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. The clip quickly went viral, sparking strong reactions. The man was later identified as Mohammad Rizvi, a resident of Singhwara in Darbhanga, and was arrested by Bihar Police on 29 August 2025. The incident triggered a political row, with parties trading sharp words over the use of such language at a public event (here, here, and here). In response, the NDA (led by the BJP and its allies) called for a Bihar bandh to protest against the derogatory remarks made during the Congress/INDIA bloc programme in Darbhanga (here, here, and here).
In this context, a video is circulating on social media claiming to show visuals from the Bihar bandh on 4 September 2025, where BJP Mahila Morcha leaders allegedly looted a store in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

Claim: The video shows BJP Mahila Morcha leaders looting a saree shop in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, during the Bihar bandh on 04 September 2025.
Fact: The viral video does not show BJP Mahila Morcha leaders looting a saree shop in Muzaffarpur during the Bihar bandh on 04 September 2025. It predates the bandh and was uploaded on Agarwal Sarees’ Instagram handle on 20 August 2025. Speaking to Factly, the store confirmed that the video was recorded at their shop in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and has no connection to Muzaffarpur or the Bihar bandh. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
A reverse image search of key frames from the viral video led us to an Instagram post (archived) by Agarwal Sarees, dated 20 August 2025, featuring the same video, confirming that it predates the Bihar bandh on 04 September 2025.
We also contacted Agarwal Sarees using the number provided on their Instagram profile. They stated that the video is from 20 August 2025, recorded during a sale at their shop. The video was uploaded on their social media handle, and the shop is located in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is not from Bihar and has no connection to the state.
A video on Agarwal Sarees’ YouTube channel mentions that their shop is located on Maldas Street, Udaipur, Rajasthan, and even shows the route to the shop.
Taking a cue from this, we traced the Agarwal Sarees shop and found it located on Maldas Street, Hathipole, Bohrwadi, Udaipur, Rajasthan.
To sum up, an unrelated video from Udaipur, Rajasthan, is shared with the false claim of the BJP Mahila Morcha looting a shop during September 2025 Bihar bandh.
