The post claims that the footage was captured in Goa on 22 August 2022 on the night of Sonali Phogat’s death. Several other posts are also being shared on social media with similar claims. Let’s verify these claims in this article.
Claim: Sonali Phogat’s dance video captured in Goa on the night of her death.
Fact: In June 2022, this video was captured in a Night Club in Gurugram named Zorro. The DJ of the Club has shared a few pictures with Sonali Phogat, which he posted on his Facebook account. In those pictures, Sonali Phogat was wearing the same outfit she was seen wearing in the video. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
After watching the video, we heard a person shout on the mic, ‘thank you so much for coming to Zorro’. With this clue, we searched on the internet and found a club named Zorro-The Luxury Night Club, located in Gurugram.
Further, to confirm if Sonali Phogat has visited this club, we searched on the internet with the following keywords-Sonali Phogat in Zorro nightclub. The search led us to a Facebook post by Dee J Cue (Sumit Chauhan). He works as a Disc Jockey (DJ) at Zorro.
The post description reads BIG BOSS FAME Sonali Phogat In Zorro – The Luxury Night Club. It contained three pictures of him with Sonali Phogat and was uploaded on 13 June 2022. She is seen wearing the same outfit that she is wearing in the viral video.
Furthermore, we have searched on the internet if there is a night club named Zorro in Goa but could not find any such place. With this evidence, it can be concluded that the video was not shot in Goa on 22 August 2022, but in Gurugram in June 2022.
To sum it up, an old dance video of Sonali Phogat is shared as the video captured in Goa on the night of her death.
