On 13 June 2025, Israel launched attacks on more than a dozen targets across Iran under the codename Operation Rising Lion, with the stated objective of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Israel reportedly damaged key nuclear facilities and military installations, killing several of Iran’s top military leaders. In retaliation, Iran launched a series of ballistic missiles and drones at Israel under the name Operation True Promise 3.
Amid the ongoing escalation, a video is being shared on social media (here, here, and here) claiming to show Israeli citizens protesting and pleading with Iran to stop the war. In the video, people are heard saying, “Stop the war, Iran. We are sorry. We want peace.” The same video is also being shared with claims that the protest took place in Los Angeles against possible U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict, with allegations that Israel is urging the Trump administration to target Iran’s nuclear sites. Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: The video shows Israeli citizens staging a protest and pleading with Iran to stop the war.
Fact: The video does not show a real protest by Israeli citizens pleading with Iran to stop the war. It is an AI-generated video, as indicated by unnatural facial features, spelling errors on placards, and the visible “Veo” watermark linked to Google’s AI video tool. Detection tools like SynthID and Hive AI confirmed the video was AI-generated. There are no credible reports of such protests taking place in either Israel or Los Angeles. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Upon closer observation of the viral video, several inconsistencies can be noticed. There are spelling errors on the placards, and the faces of some individuals appear unnatural, with distorted facial structures. In one instance, a man in a blue shirt is seen raising slogans, and suddenly an Israeli flag appears in his hand in an abrupt and unrealistic transition. Additionally, a watermark reading “Veo” is visible in the bottom-right corner, indicating that the video was created using Google’s Veo AI model (here, here, here, and here).

Google’s ‘Synth ID‘ tool, which identifies photos and videos generated using its AI models, also confirmed that this video was AI-generated. Additionally, we analysed the video using the Hive AI detection tool, which flagged it with an aggregate score of 99.8%, indicating a high probability that it was created using AI.

We did not find any credible reports of Israeli citizens staging a protest and pleading with Iran to stop the war, either in Israel or in Los Angeles.
To sum up, AI-generated visuals created using Google’s Veo tool are falsely shared as Israelis pleading with Iran to stop the war.
