A series of photos allegedly taken during the construction of the Great Pyramids in Egypt is being shared on social media. Let’s fact-check this claim through this article.
Claim: These images were taken by the Pharaoh Government during the construction of the Great Pyramids.
False: These are photos generated by Artificial intelligence tools. The pyramids in Giza, Egypt were built around 2500 BC, almost 4000 years before photography was invented. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
Firstly, a quick search on the internet revealed that the Great Pyramids in Giza, Egypt, were built from 2550 to 2490 B.C. Furthermore, searching for photographs taken during their construction did not lead to any reliable evidence to prove the claim that the viral photos were taken during the construction of the Great Pyramids.
Photography was invented (here and here) in the 19th century, more than 4000 years after the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza. There is also no credible evidence to prove the existence of photographic devices during the period when the pyramids were built. This makes it clear that it would have been practically impossible to take the photos of the construction of Pyramids and the photos claiming to be them are fake.
Furthermore, to check the origins of the viral photos, we performed a reverse image search but we could not find the source for it. Upon suspicion that these could have been generated using Artificial Intelligence, we ran these images through the Hive AI generator tool, which tells whether a given image is AI or not, it declared that these three images were generated using AI. This validated our doubts that these are AI-generated images.
To sum up, these photos were not taken during the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
