A video of an overcrowded suspension bridge is being shared on social media with claims that it is a bridge located in India. Let’s fact-check this claim through this article.

Claim: Viral clip shows the state of an overcrowded suspension bridge in India.

Fact: This bridge is located in Nepal’s Sanga province, not India. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

We performed a reverse image search on a few keyframes of the viral video which led us to a YouTube video from April 2021 that contained the same visuals as the viral video, except that it is a lengthier version. According to the video’s title, this bridge is in Sanga, Nepal.

Taking this as a hint, we searched the internet for further details about the video. This search led us to news reports (here and here) containing visuals from the viral video describing a suspension bridge’s condition in Nepal’s Sanga province. Reportedly, this incident took place on the Nepali New Year in 2021.

Additionally, we looked at the street view (here and here) of the Sanga Suspension Bridge on Google Maps, which matched the bridge in the viral video.

To sum up, the overcrowded suspension bridge in the viral video is located in Nepal, not India.
