It is being shared in the context of an Indian woman named Jimisha Avlani (alias Anaya) (here, here, and here) who was allegedly caught attempting to shoplift from a Target store in Illinois, United States. It is being claimed that the woman seen in the viral video is Jimisha Avlani. We will fact-check this claim through this article.

Fact: The video is from Mexico and has no connection to the US or anyone named Jimisha Avlani. The woman was reportedly caught stealing items at a Coppel store in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, on 29 April 2025. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
To verify the claim, we performed reverse image search on keyframes from the viral video and found news reports (here, here, here, and here) about this incident published by Mexican media outlets in April 2025.
As per these reports, the woman seen in the video tried to shoplift items from the Coppel store inside Plaza Patio located in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. She pretended to be pregnant by hiding several items under her dress.
She reportedly hid at least 10 pairs of jeans and several T-shirts under her dress. This incident reportedly occurred in Mexico on 29 April 2025. Reports on this incident have no mention of the woman featured in it being an Indian named Jimisha or Anaya Avlani.
On the other hand, news reports (here and here) on Jimisha Avlani’s shoplifting incident cited a YouTube channel named ‘Body Cam Edition’ as their source. According to the police body cam footage of this case uploaded on their channel on 14 July 2025, this incident took place on 1 May 2025. The person in this video, Jimisha Avlani, and the one featured in the viral video are not the same.
To sum up, an unrelated video from Mexico is falsely linked to an Indian woman, Jimisha Avlani, the Indian woman allegedly caught stealing at a Target Store in Illinois, US.
