Claim: Google CEO Sundar Pichai gave a befitting reply to U.S. President Donald Trump after he insulted India at the World Economic Forum (WEF)

Fact: There is no evidence of any such conversation between Sundar Pichai and Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum. The content originates from the YouTube channel ‘Lit Narrator’, which creates AI-generated fictional videos. Hence, the claim in the viral post is FALSE.

First, we examined the details of the WEF Annual Meeting 2025, held in Davos-Klosters from 20th to 24th January 2025. Records show that Donald Trump did not attend the event in person; instead, he joined virtually on 23 January 2025. In his address and the subsequent discussion, Trump spoke about topics such as attracting investments, U.S. trade relations, economic policies, and the Russia-Ukraine war. There is no evidence of him making derogatory remarks about India. Additionally, there is no record of Sundar Pichai attending either the session or the WEF summit itself.

The Indian government also did not announce Jaishankar’s participation in the event. In fact, even in previous WEF summits, there are no reports or official statements suggesting that Trump, Jaishankar, and Sundar Pichai ever had such a conversation. Further investigation revealed that the viral claim originated (here, here & here) from the YouTube channel ‘Lit Narrator’.
