Fact: The video shared in the post is a clipped one. The post shared a short video clip from the inauguration ceremony of the Bogibeel rail-road bridge in Assam, in 2018. The extended version of the video shows Narendra Modi waving to both the passengers inside a train moving alongside the bridge and the crowd gathered beneath the rail-road bridge. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, we found an extended version of the video showing similar visuals on the official YouTube channel of PMO India. The PMO India published the video on 25 December 2018, with the title, “PM Modi inaugurates India’s longest rail-road Bogibeel bridge on Brahmaputra river in Assam.”
Following the inauguration of the Bogibeel bridge, Narendra Modi took a drive on the road bridge. In the extended version of the video, Narendra Modi was seen standing on the foothold of his vehicle and greeting the passengers aboard a train moving alongside the bridge.
Additionally, there was a crowd gathered beneath the bridge, to whom Narendra Modi waved and greeted. The clipped video shared in the post does not show Modi greeting people present beneath the bridge during the inauguration ceremony. Videos published by different news sites showed Narendra Modi waving at train passengers and the crowd assembled for inauguration of India’s longest rail-road Bogibeel Bridge on the Brahmaputra River in Assam.
To sum it up, a clipped video was shared as the visuals of Narendra Modi waving at an empty crowd.
