Fact: The posted video is a clipped one. In the full video, it can be seen that Arvind Kejriwal was sarcastically commenting on the economists for writing articles criticising the freebies, but not writing even one article condemning the corruption in the country. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
The logo of ‘Lokmat’ media can be seen in the posted video. So, when we searched with some keywords, the video of Arvind Kejriwal’s speech at a program recently organised by the Lokmat Media Group was found in the search results. In the video streamed live by AAP on 08 MAY 2022, the posted clip can be seen at 1:25:02. In his speech, Arvind Kejriwal said – “Nowadays, many famous economists are writing articles in newspapers that the country will be ruined if freebie culture is continued. I did not see even one economist writing an article saying that the country will be ruined if corruption is continued. Corruption should continue (according to them). How am I giving these freebies? From where am I getting money? I do not have the money to give the freebies. I ended the corruption. The money which previously went into the pockets of leaders and officers is now being distributed to the people in the form of freebies…” (English translation)

His speech can be also seen on the ‘Lokmat’ YouTube channel. Also, in an article published by ‘The Week’, it can be read that – “Countering the charge of indulging in freebie politics, the Delhi CM said money meant for public welfare used to be consumed by corruption, and his government, by stopping corruption and saving money therein was giving people free electricity and other amenities.”
