A video is going viral on social media in which a man smashes his TV after watching the winning moments of India during the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. The post description refers to him as a Pakistani. Let’s fact-check this video through this article.

Fact: This is an old video shot in 2016. Reportedly, a woman pranked his boyfriend during a Euro 2016 football game between Turkey and Croatia by repeatedly turning off the TV during crucial moments of the match. The viral post contains a clip from this video in which the cricket match clip is digitally added to the TV screen. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

We ran a keyword search on the internet and were led to a few news reports about a man who smashed his TV while watching a football match.

Reportedly, this was a prank played on a man named Izzet Salti by his girlfriend when he was watching a Euro 2016 match between his country, Turkey and Croatia. Izzet’s girlfriend recorded his reaction as she turned off the TV during crucial moments of the match; as a result of it, he smashed his TV.
