Claim: Video of Telangana Police waving BJP flags on their vehicles and promoting BJP in Telangana.
Fact: The video shared in the post shows a few arrested BJP workers waving BJP flags from a police vehicle in Hyderabad, Telangana. A longer version of the video clearly shows BJP workers inside that police vehicle. Several BJP leaders shared this video appreciating the courage and commitment of those BJP workers. The Telangana Police did not wave BJP flags on their vehicles and promoted BJP. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a longer version of the video was found published by the ‘Vahini TV’ YouTube channel on 27 March 2022. In this longer version of the video, we could see a few arrested BJP workers waving BJP flags from a Rachakonda police vehicle. A few BJP leaders have shared this video on social media appreciating the courage and commitment of those BJP workers. They can be seen here and here.
When we searched for further details, a video with similar visuals was found published by the ‘Zee Telugu News’ YouTube channel. They reported it as the visuals of BJP workers waving BJP flags from a Telangana Police vehicle. The BJP workers in the vehicle were reportedly detained for participating in a rally. There are several other pictures available on the internet where we could see BJP workers waving BJP flags from a Telangana Police vehicle. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post shows BJP workers waving BJP flags from a Telangana Police vehicle.
To sum it up, a video of BJP workers waving BJP flags from a Telangana Police vehicle is being shared with a false narrative.
