A video of a truck ramming into cars on a highway is being shared on Facebook claiming that the incident happened on Mysuru road near Kangeri in Karnataka. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of an accident on Mysuru road in Karnataka.

Fact: Video shows an accident on a highway in Russia, not on Mysuru road (Karnataka). The accident occurred on the ‘M-5’ highway that connects Russian cities Moscow and Chelyabinsk. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the screenshots of the image were subjected to reverse image search technique, a video of ‘Ruptly’ was obtained in the search results. As per ‘Ruptly’, the accident took place on ‘M-5’ highway at Chelyabinsk city in Russia. ‘M-5’ highway runs between the Russian cities Moscow and Chelyabinsk. In the accident, two people were reported to have been killed and seven others were injured.
