Fact: The video shared in the post shows an old video of Doctor Zafar Iqbal, a famous eye specialist in Pakistan, dancing with a woman after partying in his hospital room. This video was leaked in February 2020 and was later circulated attributing to political leaders from different parties in India. The Jalore Police through a tweet confirmed that the man seen in the video is not Devji Patel and clarified it to be a two-year-old video. On 25 June 2022, Jalore police arrested one of the accused who shared this old video attributing to Jalore MP Devji Patel. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found posted by a Pakistan media website on 13 February 2020. This news website reported it as visuals of Doctor Zafar Iqbal, a famous eye specialist of South Punjab in Pakistan, dancing with a woman after partying in his hospital room. Several other Pakistan news channels and social media users published the same video with a similar description.
On 02 February 2020, the ‘Daily Pakistan’ news website published an article reporting Doctor Zafar Iqbal’s scandal videos being leaked on social media. Later, the same video was shared attributing it to leaders of different political parties in India.
When searched for further sources related to the claim made in the post, we found a tweet published by the Jalore Police regarding this viral video being attributed to Jalore BJP MP Devji Patel. Jalore Police shared a screenshot of a press release in which it was stated that the viral video attributed to Devji Patel was two years old. Jalore Police in the press release confirmed that the man seen dancing with a woman in the video is not Devji Patel and informed public that one of the prime accused who shared this old video attributing to Devji Patel was arrested.
