A Bangladeshi Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das, was brutally lynched and his body burnt on a highway in Mymensingh district on 18 December 2025, following rumours of insulting religious sentiments. Local police and RAB officials have since stated that no evidence was found to support the blasphemy allegation. Several accused have been arrested and placed on remand as investigations continue. The killing has triggered widespread outrage in Bangladesh and abroad, with authorities condemning the act as mob violence and assuring strict action against those involved (here, here, and here).

In the aftermath of the incident, a video has been circulating on social media (here, here, and here) claiming to show actor Sanjay Dutt justifying the killing of the Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. In the video, he is allegedly heard saying, “What happened with Dipu Chandra in Bangladesh was very good. Look, I am a true Hindu, and I never support wrong. The way Dipu Chandra committed blasphemy against the honour of the Muslims’ beloved Prophet, it was bound to happen to him. Just think once how it would feel if someone made wrong comments about our Ram Ji. Dipu Chandra has received punishment for his actions. For the rest, the comment box is open for whatever you people want to say.” Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.
