On 12 June 2025, Air India Flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad. The aircraft lost altitude within minutes and went down in the Meghani Nagar area near the airport, erupting in flames (here, here). It crashed into the hostel building of B.J. Medical College and Civil Hospital, which was reportedly housing medical students at the time. Over 240 people were on board, including nationals of India, the UK, Portugal, and Canada (here). Rescue and investigation efforts are ongoing, led by the DGCA, AAIB, and Air India.
Following the crash, a video circulating on social media (here, here, and here) is being shared with the claim that it was recorded before the incident and shows the 12 flight attendants who died in the 12 June 2025 Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

Claim: This video shows the 12 flight attendants who died in the 12 June 2025 Air India crash in Ahmedabad, and was recorded before the flight.
Fact: The video was posted online on 09 June 2025, three days before the crash. It was shared by Instagram user Yashasvi Sharma, who later confirmed in a comment that she is safe and currently in Mumbai. This proves the video is unrelated to the Ahmedabad Air India tragedy. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to an Instagram post (archived) by Yashasvi Sharma (@yashasviexplorer), dated 09 June 2025, featuring the same video, confirming that it predates the 12 June 2025 Air India crash.

Upon reviewing the comments section of the post, we found a remark by Yashasvi Sharma clarifying that she is safe. She wrote, “Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m safe and currently in Mumbai. I’m deeply shaken and heartbroken by what’s happened. It’s a very difficult time for us.”

A total of 12 crew members were killed when Air India Flight AI-171 crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad airport on 12 June 2025. The deceased included the pilot, co-pilot, and several cabin crew members. The full list of crew members who lost their lives in the crash can be viewed here, here, and here.
Though we could not independently verify when the video was originally filmed, available evidence confirms that it was posted online before the 12 June 2025 Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad and is unrelated to the incident.
To sum up, this video does not show the 12 flight attendants who died in the 12 June 2025 Ahmedabad plane crash; it predates the incident and was recorded before the flight.
