The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are scheduled to be held in two phases on 06 November and 11 November 2025 (here and here). As the elections approach, a purported news graphic (here, here and here) attributed to ABP News has gone viral on social media. The viral graphic claims that BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah warned Bihar voters, saying, “If people from Bihar don’t vote for our party, then we won’t let them ‘enter’ Delhi and Mumbai!” Let’s find the truth behind this claim.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: ABP News reported that Union Home Minister Amit Shah warned Bihar voters, saying, “If people from Bihar don’t vote for our party, we won’t let them enter Delhi and Mumbai.

Fact: The viral graphic attributed to ABP News is fake. No such statement was made by Amit Shah, and ABP News has not published or aired any such report. The channel has officially clarified on social media that the graphic is fabricated and warned of legal action against those spreading this misinformation. Hence the claim is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we conducted a keyword search on Google to check if Amit Shah had made any such statement. However, no credible reports supported this claim, confirming that he did not make any such public remark.

We also went through ABP News’ official website and verified social media handles (here, here, here, here and here) to see if they had published any such report. However, there were no references or posts related to this claim, confirming that ABP News did not release any such news graphic or statement. Additionally, we found that ABP News has used the same image in several of its previous reports (here, here, here and here), suggesting that the viral graphic may have been edited from one of those.

Further investigation led us to an official clarification posted by ABP News on their social media handles on 23 October 2025 (here, here and here), in which the channel clearly stated: “The graphic being circulated on social media in the name of ABP News is completely fake. No such statement was made by the Home Minister, nor has any such news been aired by ABP News.” The channel further warned that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for fabricating and circulating this misinformation. These pieces of evidence confirm that the viral photo is fake and was not published by ABP News.

To sum up, the viral graphic claiming ABP News reported Amit Shah’s warning to Bihar voters is fake and edited using the channel’s original template.
