In the context of the controversy surrounding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar pulling the hijab of a woman (here, here, and here) in a government event in Patna on 15 December 2025, a video (here, and here) of Muslim women protesting is going viral with the claim that it shows a protest against Nitish Kumar. We will fact-check this claim through this article.
Claim: Video of a Muslim woman protesting against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for pulling the Hijab of a woman at an event in Patna on 15 December 2025.
Fact: This video predates the Hijab pulling incident involving Nitish Kumar on 15 December 2025. It has been on the internet since at least 25 November 2025 and shows a protest held in Didwana, Rajasthan. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
To check the veracity of the claim, we performed a keyword search to find news reports about the incident in the video. Through this search, we found that Nitish Kumar’s action of pulling the Hijab (veil of her dress) of a Muslim woman has led to widespread protests across India (here, here, here, and here). However, we did not find any news reports that featured the video in question.
To learn more about it, we ran a reverse image search on the internet, using a few of its keyframes, and found an Instagram post from 25 November 2025 that contained the same video.
This makes it clear that the video is not related to Nitish Kumar’s controversy that erupted after the Patna event on 15 December 2025. According to the caption and the text on the video (which is also on the video in question), this shows a protest related to ‘Kisan Mahapadav’ held in Didwana, Rajasthan.
Using this as a hint, we performed an internet search using relevant keywords and found news reports (here, here, and here) from November 2025 featuring visuals similar to the ones seen in the video in question.
As per these reports, the visuals show a protest held in Didwana, Rajasthan, against a ‘recent allotment and declaration of custodian lands as government land.’
To sum up, an old and unrelated video is falsely shared as visuals of Muslim Women protesting against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for pulling the Hijab of a woman during an event in Patna.
