A video (here, here and here) is going viral on social media claiming to show the relocation and installation of the famous Buddha statue at Hussain Sagar, Hyderabad, in 1992. Let’s uncover the truth behind this claim.
Claim: The viral video shows the moving and installation of the famous Buddha statue at Hussain Sagar, Hyderabad, in 1992.
Fact: This video is AI-generated. Multiple inconsistencies indicate artificial creation. The video was also traced back to an Instagram account (bharathfx1) specialising in VFX and AI content, where the uploader clarified it was AI-made. AI detection tools also confirmed the same. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
On closely observing the video, several inconsistencies are noticeable. Some people’s body parts appear missing, and in a few frames, entire individuals vanish unnaturally , glitches that are commonly seen in AI-generated videos.
To trace the origin of the video, we performed a reverse image search on Google, which led us to its primary upload on an Instagram account named bharathfx1. In the video’s description, the creator clearly mentioned that it was made using AI.
Further analysis of the ‘bharathfx1’ Instagram profile shows that the account clearly mentions it mainly focuses on 3D computer graphics (VFX, film, and animation) and video editing. The profile also features several other AI-generated videos, including one showing the making of Hyderabad’s famous Cyber Tower (here, here and here).
To further verify whether the video was AI-generated, we ran it through the AI detection tool Hive, which also indicated that the video was most likely created using AI. Based on these, it is confirmed that the video is AI-generated.
