A black-and-white video of RSS workers dancing to a song is going viral on social media, with claims that it dates back to 1942 or the time of Independence and comes from the archives of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), suggesting they were dancing to a random song instead of ‘Vande Mataram.’ Let’s find out the truth behind this video.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The viral video shows RSS workers dancing in the 1940s to a random song.

Fact: The video is not from the 1940s. It is from 2015 and was filmed at an RSS meeting in Nagpur during the Sangh Shiksha Varg third anniversary. News reports by Aaj Tak and Zee 24 Taas confirm this, and visual comparisons match the individuals seen in the 2015 footage. Hence the claim is FALSE.

To find the truth, we performed a reverse image search on Google, which led us to the same video reported by Aaj Tak on 17 December 2015. The caption stated that RSS workers were seen dancing before a meeting in Nagpur. According to the report, the dance took place during the Sangh Shiksha Varg’s third anniversary meeting in Nagpur, which was attended by several BJP leaders.

We also found the same video reported by Zee 24 Taas in Marathi in December 2015, stating that the RSS workers were dancing during a meeting held to mark the third anniversary of the Sangh Shiksha Varg.

Additionally, many of the faces seen in the viral video match those in the Aaj Tak report. A side-by-side comparison clearly confirms that the viral clip is not from the 1940s but from 2015.

To sum up, this video of RSS workers dancing in 2015 is being falsely shared as visuals from the 1940s.
