A purported video showing Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha (LoP) Rahul Gandhi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman discussing a highly profitable Quantum AI investment platform in Parliament is being widely shared on social media. The video allegedly shows them promoting a Quantum AI investment platform launched by Elon Musk, which claims to provide ₹85,000 per day (amounting to ₹25,50,000 per month) by investing just ₹22,000. In this article, let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video shows Rahul Gandhi and Nirmala Sitharaman discussing a highly profitable Quantum AI Investment platform in Parliament.

Fact: This video claiming to show Rahul Gandhi and Nirmala Sitharaman discussing a highly profitable Quantum AI investment platform in Parliament is a deepfake. The original clips have been manipulated using AI-driven facial feature alterations and voice cloning. Neither of these individuals has ever endorsed or promoted such projects. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

We performed a relevant keyword search on the internet to verify whether Rahul Gandhi and Nirmala Sitharaman had discussed a highly profitable Quantum AI investment platform in Parliament. However, no credible reports indicate that either of them ever made such statements in Parliament.

Upon closer inspection of the viral video, discrepancies can be noticed in the voice and lip movements of both Rahul Gandhi and Nirmala Sitharaman. This indicates that the video may have been digitally manipulated or created using deepfake technology.

To verify further, we conducted a Google reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. This revealed that the clip of Rahul Gandhi actually shows him speaking during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha on 01 July 2024. The video was uploaded on Sansad TV, the official YouTube channel of the Indian Parliament. In the footage, Rahul Gandhi can be seen displaying a portrait of Lord Shiva, not a paper about a Quantum AI investment platform. Moreover, in his entire speech, he did not mention anything related to a Quantum AI investment platform. The full transcript of his speech can be seen here and here.

A Google reverse image search revealed that the video clip of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman speaking in Parliament actually shows her addressing the Rajya Sabha during the Monsoon Session 2023 on 26 July 2023. This video was uploaded on the Sansad TV YouTube channel on the same date. In her entire speech, Nirmala Sitharaman did not mention anything about a Quantum AI investment platform. Similarly, the other video clip of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman actually shows her speaking on the PM Internship Scheme App in Parliament House, New Delhi, on 17 March 2025 (here, here). This video was shared on the official YouTube channel of the Office of the Finance Minister on the same date. In her entire speech, Nirmala Sitharaman did not mention anything about a Quantum AI investment platform.

Additionally, AI detection tools such as HiveResemble AI, and Hiya confirmed that the viral video contains AI-generated or deepfake content. Hive flagged the audio as highly likely to be AI-generated, while both Hiya AI and Resemble AI also detected several segments of artificially generated audio. This confirms that the viral video has been created using deepfake technology.

It is also worth noting that the link (archived) embedded in the viral video redirects users to a jewellery shopping website, further confirming that it is part of an online scam.
