A video (here, here, here, here and here) is circulating on social media claiming to show a peacock entering a temple in Ayodhya, approaching the Ram Lalla idol, and placing a garland at Lord Rama’s feet. Let’s find the truth behind this claim.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The video shows a real peacock visiting the Ayodhya Ram Temple and garlanding the idol of Lord Ram.

Fact: The video is AI-generated and not real. The original visuals were traced to an Instagram creator who tagged it with AI tool references, and AI detection tools flagged it as most likely AI-generated. There is no credible report of such an incident at the Ayodhya temple. Hence, the claim is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we first conducted an internet search using relevant keywords to check whether a peacock had garlanded the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya, as suggested in the viral video. No credible news reports or official statements confirmed such an event.

On examining the viral clip closely, we noticed a watermark reading “Ash_saxena.” Using this clue, we traced the video to an Instagram profile named Ashish Saxena, where the same set of visuals was posted on 29 December 2025. The caption included the hashtags #sora2 and #sora, indicating that the clip was created using Sora, an AI-based video generation tool. Furthermore, the profile’s bio states that the user is an AI video creator, reinforcing that the viral footage is not real.

To further verify this, we analysed the video on Hive AI content detection, which flagged the footage as 91.8% likely AI-generated, providing strong technical evidence that the video is synthetic, not real.

To sum up, this video of a peacock garlanding the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya is AI-generated and not real.
