A video is being shared on social media claiming it as the visuals of a dead baby resurrected to life after her mother’s prayers to Jesus. According to the post, the baby was declared dead after birth. This post claims that the baby was brought back to life after her mother’s prayers to Jesus. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: The baby seen in the video was not stillborn. The video shows an old incident that took place in Fiera De Santana hospital in Bahia, Brazil. The Hospital Foundation of Feira de Santana issued a press statement clarifying that the baby was naturally born and the video was taken while the mother was praying in thanksgiving for her son’s life. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, videos with similar visuals were found posted by several Facebook and YouTube users in 2020. A few of them can be seen here and here. These users shared this video mentioning it as an incident that took place in Bahia, Brazil. A YouTube user shared the video mentioning that the incident had taken place in Fiera De Santana hospital in Bahia and clarified that the baby was not stillborn. He informed in the description that the Fiera De Santana hospital has issued a press statement and clarified that the resurrection news spreading along with this video is fake.

When we searched for further sources using relevant keywords, we found several news articles reporting the actual truth of the video. They can be seen here and here. These news articles reported that the baby was born by natural delivery and doing well in the mother’s arms. This video was reportedly taken while the baby was crying listening to the mother’s thanksgiving prayer in Fiera De Santana hospital.

The press statement issued by the Fiera De Santana hospital states, “A video that circulates on social media of a baby, who would have been stillborn, and after the mother’s prayers came back to breathe and cried is Fake News. The Hospital Foundation of Feira de Santana, a municipality of the Municipality that manages the Hospital Inácia Pinto dos Santos (Women’s Hospital), clarifies that the information is not true. The child was not stillborn. According to information from the Maternal and Child Complex at Inácia Pinto dos Santos Hospital, the newborn was born naturally this weekend and was doing well in the mother’s arms”. Further, the Hospital management said, “When she began to pray in thanksgiving for her son’s life, in a natural reaction, the baby began to cry. After analyzing the published video, Fundação Hospitalar clarifies that it was all Fake News”.
