Claim: The Central Government is providing tractors to farmers with 50% subsidy through PM Kisan Tractor Yojana.
Fact: According to a tweet by PIB, no such scheme called PM Kisan Tractor Yojana is being implemented by the central government. They rated the news as fake. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Google search using the keywords’ PM Kisan Tractor Yojana’ led us to a tweet by PIB on 15 August 2020 clearing the air around thi rumour. Their tweet categorically states that there is no such scheme with the name PM Kisan Tractor Yojana and that the government is not implementing any such scheme. The tweet rated the news as fake.
Further, no such scheme is listed in the ‘Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)’ website of the government. The website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare also does not list any such scheme.
To sum it up, there is no such central government scheme called PM Kisan Tractor Yojana.
